LA10 Look to Take 3 Points Against the Reigning Champions

In the second match of the season, LA10FC look to score their first victory since their promotion as they take on the reigning champions of the UPSL Pro Premier SoCal North Division, Cal FC. The game will take place at Calabasas High School this Sunday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live via for the viewing pleasure of those unable to attend.

In their Pro Premier Division debut against the L.A Wolves, LA10 showed they had what it takes to compete against the best, earning a 1-1 draw against last season’s second place holders of the division. Team Captain Duncan Bochicchio scored the first goal of the season and hopes to set a streak against Sporting San Fernando on Saturday.

“I think what we can do a little bit better is keep the ball a little bit more,” said Bochicchio. “I think we need to keep possession a little bit more comfortably.”

Cal FC serves as the most difficult challenge for LA10 to date, as they defeated Sporting San Fernando 8-3 in their previous game and demolished Valley United SC in their season opener 7-0. Though they currently sit at No. 2 in the division standings, their long-time success in the division as last season’s champions makes them the toughest opponent LA10 has yet to face.

The boys in stripes look to make necessary adjustments to continue undefeated as they navigate some tougher opponents to reach their goal of becoming league champions. LA10’s new goalkeeper David “Q” Quiñonez expects the team to do better in this upcoming matchup as the nerves of playing in a new league subside. Quiñonez has a clear plan on how to make those adjustments and get their first win.

“Communication and hard work always,” said Quiñonez. “Always give 120 percent and you know, finishing our opportunities.”
